5 Famous Authors Who Ruined My Life

When I was twelve, I picked up a book called Wildfire.
If you've ever read Wildfire, or any other novel by the famous author Nelson Demille, then you'd understand the irony in a twelve-year-old reading it. Nevertheless, I inherited all of the books my dad had read, including this raunchy, inflammatory novel about a quick-witted ex-cop who finds himself waist-deep in the politics of Mutually Assured Destruction with nothing but his wise-guy personality to see him through.
Nelson Demille is an author who ruined my life -- and at a young age, at that. But he's not the only one. Here's a list of the 5 authors who, like Demille, captured my mind at a young age and turned my thoughts from childhood dreams to politically charged wise-cracks, ruining my life for the better.
1. Christopher Paolini
2. Brandon Sanderson
3. John Grisham
4. Cassandra Clare
5. Nelson Demille
